St Kilda Marina Club was created by boat owners for boat owners because we love boating.  Whereas virtually every other marina on the planet provides their members with a members lounge and a boat owners club, and website to benefit their members, neither the Management of St Kilda Marina, nor any businesses based there, ever did.  So in February 2007, we decided to do it for ourselves.  Our desire was to provide boaties with as much info on boating, and options and choices when it comes to products and services, and anything and everything to do with boating.

We never thought that anyone would ever want to attack us - after all, we're just a boat owners club.  And we never thought for a second that any attacks would come from our own Marina's Management, or other businesses based at St Kilda Marina.

But ever since we created St Kilda Marina Club, the proprietors of St Kilda Boat Sales and St Kilda Service Centre have unceasingly attacked our club and our General Manager personally for creating what they could have provided to boat owners at St Kilda Marina years ago, but never bothered to. 

We have received literally dozens of comments from people who have told us what they've said about our club's GM and about our club - and all of it is at the least unpleasant, and at the worst probably slanderous.  They've made no secret of their feelings and they've done everything they could to undermine our club and General Manager's position at St Kilda Marina.

Despite their paranoia at the creation of St Kilda Marina Club, we never intended to wage a war on St Kilda Boat Sales or St Kilda Service Centre - nor have we.  They've previously stated that they have "100s of completely satisfied customers", and maybe they do.  (We'd love to hear about them.) But there are many (dozens) of customers of theirs out there who have contacted us that have been left feeling disappointed or ripped off or outraged by the way they operate - and some of the reports are scathing.
 
We didn't want any hassles, and we’ve never published any of them - and in return for our restraint they have done everything they could to attack our club and our GM personally at every opportunity.  They have been up to their necks in collusion with Greg Spooner in his attempts to kick our GM out of the marina - to the point where they were telling people “He's not going to be here much longer” weeks before Greg Spooner initiated his action against us in Dec 07. 

Our desire not to get into a bitch fight has clearly been perceived as weakness - and our good faith has gotten us nowhere.  So, at the suggestion of many of our members (who have also had 'interesting' dealings with them) we’re going to change that policy immediately.  

People have a right to know the truth - about everything - and we’re not afraid to publish it.
